2016 NATIONAL Top 20
Top 40
Top 60
#348 Kyree Walker- Mr ESPN is what people were calling him and some people were just simply saying this kid is a problem! Kyree came into the camp with the most hype, after a posterizing dunk that made ESPN he followed the NEO camp with dunks such as the one that broke the Internet. The 6'5 guard destroyed any and everybody that stood in front of him, from making draw dropping crossovers to Steph Curry step back jumpers and grown man like finishes. Kyree showed why he is the number 1 player in the country, and it doesn't look like that spot will be taken for a while.
#283 Cameron Byers- Big Cam is no stranger to NEO, after having a dominant performance last camp he followed up with another big weekend. This year Cam seemed like he's been working on his game, and that could be a problem for some kids in his class. He has added some handles along with a mid range jump shot. There was not a soul in the building that could bang with Cam on the block and now he's taking bigs outside and driving right by them. This man child is a beast and there isn't no way else to explain it.
#281 Grant Huffman- was a scoring machine this weekend. We watch Grant drop 25 and then follow the next game with 30 points and 10 assist. The long athletic wing got up and down the floor on both ends of the floor, making blocks you will see big men make then running the floor like a deer after to finish off what he started on defense. By far one of the best scorers at camp and some are saying one of the best players in the country as well.
#285 Jerry Vaughn- came into camp just #285 and left out the camp with probably a ranking in one of those top magazines and websites. The shifty smooth quick guard, sliced and diced in and out of people all weekend. With his quickness and body control Jerry was able to push the ball in transition stopping on the dime to make a move or throwing some type of no look pass to his teammate. One of the top guards at camp and probably scratching the surface of the new top rankings.
#376 Mike Saunders- was a late addition to camp coming in on Sunday, but the 2 games he played put a stamp on his name into the top 20 game. Mike showed why people consider him a top 10 point guard in the country. He made winning plays, locked down on defense and hit wide open jumpers and tough finishes in the paint. His quickness and handle was very good, the games he played lead his team to victories which is what he has been doing for years considering his AAU team won nationals last year and considered if not the best team in the country one of them.
#288 Connor O'Toole- Connor did one thing all weekend and did extremely well, that was shoot that ball. Hands down the best shooter in camp, we have heard one of the best shooters in the country. Connor is a coaches' son, so he knows what it takes to win games and also know what it takes to be great. He worked on both ends of the floor, not just shooting. That's what's going to set Connor apart of other good shooters, him being able to do more than shoot is going to be the key to his success.
#290 Christian Wright- the stocky built guard was too much this weekend. Another guy that came into camp unknown leaving out with a circle around his name. He was such a tough guard to handle because of his size, if he had a smaller guard on him he took them to the whole or posted them up. They put bigger defenders on him that still didn't matter, he called for clear outs and took them right off the dribble. His size allowed him to guard different positions which made him more valuable to his team.
#210 Lawson Nash- there was one game that put Lawson into the top 20 game and that was the very first game of the camp, where he scored 20 points in the first half ending the game with over 30 points. Lawson didn't see a rim when he was shooting seemed like he was throwing rocks into a ocean, yet he did not miss a shot! After that game he played solid and put his pilot in cruise control. He was a sleeper that woke people up.
#325 Mike Davis- not too many kids in this class wanted to get down and do the dirty work like Mike. He didn't mind fighting for a rebound for his teammates and kicking it back out for wide open shots, or setting a lot of good screens to get his teammates open for good looks. Every team needs a player like this if you plan on winning games, a player like Mike Davis is one you want to have on your team.
#64 Jermaine Goodwyn- smooth silky shooter that shot the ball with style. When I say style Jermaine didn't like shooting regular three point shots, all of his shots where either NBA range or a crossover step back three with a smile after he hit the shot. He did a lot other great things during the week but what he did best was put on a shooting clinic.
#Devonte Blanton- "Tay Tay" is a local favorite, he plays the game the right way and don't say a word when doing it. He's a silent killer that has a game that speaks for it self. With some range added to his game now, it is really hard to guard him now. He did work inside and outside. Tay Tay has the most upside we have seen and he's only getting better, standing at 6'6 now with long arms Tay Tay could be a KD type of player in the next couple years, we expect him to be a good 6'9 athletic freak!
#242 Jordan Toles- yes it's early but the comparisons to Derrick Rose isn't far off. Toles is a guard that's always in attack mode, the stocky quick guard was a night mare off the dribble. Some say
'oiu the #1 point guard in the country and who cares what the others say, Toles put on a show all weekend and didn't back down from no one. Winning the dunk contest just was a icing on the cake because he showed during games he was the best dunker in camp. Oh, and he's a talker that backs it up too.
#215 Jyrare Davis- for his size you would look at him and think he was either a football player or big body post, no sir neither, Jyrare Davis is a 6'4 smooth big monster. Game reminds me of Carmelo Anthony, will size you up, blow past you and put you on somebody's instagrams page. JD is a top 5 overall player in the country, even though rankings mean nothing, top 5 is where he belongs.
#20 Quentin Richardson- Q isn't that tiny little guard us NEO people know him has, look like he woke up one day and was taller. By him growing has allowed his game to flourish, his attacking the rim mindset can really work now. The flashy guard made some sports center top 10 plays, with crossovers, pull ups and even locked down on defense. A true scoring guard that don't mind passing the ball to his teammates, but Q isn't afraid of the challenge. If there's a bucket that needs to be made, best believe he's going to get it.
#19 Tevin Jackson- is what you called a true point guard. Tevin is a coaches' son that probably can coach a team and be successful right now. If we had a to choose who we thought was the best point guard at camp (talking true point guard) we would have to mention Tevin's name. Tevin team scored 100 points twice, in those 2 games Tevin had over 30 assist and more then 15 steals. Not to mention he caught fire one of those games and hit 3 straight three pointers from deep.
#349 Jesse Laster- Jesse kind of played the back seat role, but still shines when doing so. Grabbing rebounds pushing the ball on the break and a couple nasty breakaway dunks landed him a spot in the top 20. He has to play hard with a motor the whole entire time though, doesn't matter if Lebron was on the team you have to bring at all times.
#239 Dwayne Hightower- has been around the block and back, he's no stranger at playing with top kids in the country. He's been doing that his whole life, he picked his spots when he needed to dominant the game he always picked his spots where he just got everybody the ball and played great team basketball. A true team first player that only cares about one thing and one thing only, that's winning ball games.
#195 Montorie Foster- there was one game where he was playing in and the game was packed. Everyone was there to see Kyree Walker, but Foster stole the show. Capping in a game high 25 points Foster wasn't afraid of who he was playing against. With everybody there to watch Walker everybody left waiting to watch Fosters next game. Hitting tough threes, pushing the ball in transition didn't matter what it was he made it his business to do it. Foster turned it on against everybody, becoming one of the best scorers at camp.
#274 Jk Williams- not having much help on his team allowed Jk to show the people what he can really do and that's flat out ball. Even though it was clear as day he was one of the best players on his team he still seem to find his team and get them involved. He didn't ball hog the ball at all, even at times we where saying he should be taking over he thought of his team and shared the ball. When it was time to go after a bucket best believe the ball was in Jk's hands and he was attacking with no fear in his eyes.
#283 Cameron Byers- Big Cam is no stranger to NEO, after having a dominant performance last camp he followed up with another big weekend. This year Cam seemed like he's been working on his game, and that could be a problem for some kids in his class. He has added some handles along with a mid range jump shot.
